Get to know Susan

Hello, I’m Susan.

I’ve been honored to serve our community as a School Board member since 2014. I’ve brought to the School Board broad experience with our schools:

  • As a parent of two Rocklin students
  • As a volunteer in my children’s schools since 2002; and
  • As a parent representative on the School District’s Strategic Planning Team.

I also served on the Rocklin Independent Charter Academy Site Council, a school run by Rocklin Unified to provide a new educational opportunity for children. I am a Certified Public Accountant, with auditing experience, and a Leadership Rocklin graduate.

Family life

Susan and her husband, Bill, are proud parents of two children: Kathryn, who attended Sierra and Rocklin elementary schools, Spring View Middle School, and Whitney High School, and Michael, who attended the same schools and is now a Whitney High School junior. Kathryn is now a student at Wheaton College in Illinois. Susan and Bill moved to Rocklin 19 years ago, in large part because of the high quality of schools.

School board experience

Susan has been an active member of the community, serving from 2014 as a Rocklin School Board member, volunteering at schools since 2002 and serving in a number of volunteer positions for the Rocklin Wave Swim Team. In 2014, Susan served as a parent representative on the Rocklin Unified School District Strategic Planning Team. She also served on the RUSD-run Rocklin Independent Charter Academy Site Council from 2013-2016.

“I am honored to be supported by many educators, civic and business leaders. Over the last four years, I have regularly visited all our schools, held many meetings with teachers and parents, and done my best to make decisions that are in the best interest of the children in our district and our community. If re-elected, I pledge to continue to work to improve our schools and create the best possible environment for learning. I would be honored to receive your vote.”
